CS:GO Dream team BIG won their first title of the new season against Heroic in the Grand Final of Dreamhack Open Summer Europe.
The german team led by Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz’s won in two maps and secured their position as the best CS:GO team in the world with another title!
The grand final kicked off on BIG’s map pick of Overpass, where the German side was unexpectedly overwhelmed by Heroic in the opening pistol. A team ace earned BIG their first round, but a triple kill from Martin “stavn” Lund in the next put the Danish team back in the lead. An outstanding 1v3 AWP clutch from Tizian “tiziaN” Feldbusch provided BIG with a chance to narrow the score.
In the opening rounds of Inferno, BIG were unstoppable as german player k1to secured 2-0 for his team. Although Heroic bounced back, BIG regained control with a 7-8 scoreline at the half switch.
Heroic responded promptly in the second half and increased advantage to 11-8, however unfortunately for Heroic, BIG devastated Heroic’s defence to turn the game around and stormed to a 16-12 victory to win the title.
